Jo Ripepi was born and raised in Armadale, Western Australia. She is the mother of two beautiful children and studies Speech Pathology at Curtin University. She aspires to become a published children's author and is currently writing her first novel. She often wishes she owned Hermione's time turner necklace, but is happy to settle for her 'mum' super-power of having eyes in the back of her head.
Jo Ripepi is the oldest of four siblings and is a self-confessed book worm. Her grade 3 teacher was the person responsible for making books magical. This wonderful teacher had a cubby house set up in the back of the classroom, full of books. Every month there was a new theme and a new set of books. If you were good, you got to go to the cubby house to read for ten minutes. Jo couldn't wait to get in there and read, so she always made sure she was a gold star student.
Jo Ripepi's battle with breast cancer is what inspired her to start writing. Looking for a way to escape the stress of treatment and the fears that sometimes wound their way through her soul, she began to write. Writing became her happy place and a very effective coping strategy. She decided that something that felt this good should not be ignored, so continues to write and improve her skills with the hope of someday entertaining readers with her words.
